Sarah trained at Central School of Speech and Drama in Theatre Practice, where she specialised in Scenery Painting. Since leaving Central in 2009, Sarah has worked on a host of theatre shows, as Head of Scenic Art and Scenic Artist, including Jerry Springer: The Opera, Cinderella, La Boheme and The Merchant of Venice at theatres all over the country such as English National Opera and The Royal Shakespeare Company. Sarah has also been involved with a variety of Theatre in education projects both as painter and workshop leader, most recently painting for the CIAO ark which is currently touring a number of locations around the country.

Sarah also works to commission for portraits, murals and design projects, most recently creating all the Ilsington Festival posters and labels. Sarah has exhibited Fine Art locally in a range of venues including collaborative exhibition Episode 1 at The Chelston Gallery and a recent solo exhibition at The Slack Stevenson Gallery. Catch Sarah’s work this coming year in a solo exhibition at the Cockington Court Tea Rooms (23rd July- 28th September) and collaborative show at The Willesden Green Art Gallery, London (19th October- 12th November, Favourite Things).

Sarah’s aim when painting, using photographed memories of childhood haunts as a stimulus, is to capture fleeting moments in nature that awake and fire the imagination. These images are then translated into three dimensional tactile paintings using textures, glazes and theatrical paints to evoke the sense of excitement of the memory. Embracing drama and theatricality, Sarah’s aim as a Fine Artist is to utilise the products and practices she has experienced in the entertainment industry in order to give every single person the opportunity to bring a piece of escapism and adventure into their own private space.
